It does contains all what a city seems to have inside..buildings, roads, tunnels for traffic...I love the idea of placing the "observer" in a place where there is full visibility. An open panorama, where you can breath...and the bright red and well illuminated entrance to the tunnel, that obviously is signalling the way out of the city.. I think that it is really equilibrated...and may reflect the state of "freedom" of the artist, the love for the cicty, for the place where one lies but the freedom of being able to get out of that place, in a big yellow van , though the pavement can be quite dark..it is perfectly signalled and easy going. Great. Rosa

John and I sometimes paint together in fun and creativity. This artwork was painted in many colors by John and I saw the city with the road working to a tunnel. Perhaps growing up near the Harbor Tunnel in Baltimore, MD is my inspiration. Mary Carol

About Mary Carol Williams

Mary Carol Williams

Hi! I am Mary Carol Williams (1952-2018) - a self taught artist that has been painting for over 10 years now. Truly before this time I never painted yet now I can't stop. I am spontaneous and Childlike but I am convinced that everyone needs to find their way to express themselves and not repress it. I love color and my subjects are many. I seem to follow in the vein of Moses Tollivar, Grandma Moses, Clementine Hunter and the like-all finding their way when they were older and with a freedom to enjoy and handle what may come at them. I believe very strongly in God and know that without Him this daily joy would not occur. I hope to bring you a smile, I love everyday! I have sold over 2000 original drawings/paintings and many artworks...
